USE OF BOLLINGER BANDS for scripts and spreads?

i have read in some artical that

INDIA VIX is considered as an oscillating script ,rather than trending script .best way to trade is bollinger bands. i am aware it certainly has exceptions and surely breaks out of its usual limit on election days , etc

  1. what other tools can be used to generate trade signals for such scripts.

  2. CAN CALENDER SPREADS of any given security BE CONSIDERED AS AN OSCILLATING SCRIPT RATHER THAN A TRENDING SCRIPT ?

India Vix is not an ā€˜oscillating script’. You call a value ā€˜oscillating’ when its upper and lower bound by a value…like say and RSI indictor which is lower bound to 0 and upper bound by 100.

ViX on the other hand can take any value…although it tends to be in the region of 16-23% most of the times.

Also, you should note that ViX represents the implied volatility of both Calls and Puts…so the dynamics of this is totally different and cannot be compared to a regular stock or an indices.
