The Adani Group invested nearly $1 billion in the Navi Mumbai airport for operations by December next year. They provided Rs 1,710 crore, secured Rs 2,900 crore in loans, and Cidco contributed Rs 3,655 crore, with further investments planned.

India’s top nine software firms saw workforce reductions for the first time in 25 years. Declines are linked to US and European spending cuts amid global concerns. This year may close with IT firms having fewer employees than it started.

Tata Motors Ltd. won an arbitration ruling to recover Rs 766 crore with interest from WBIDC regarding the Singur-Nano project. The company had sought compensation for lost capital investments in the Singur facility. WBIDC is a key agency of West Bengal’s industrial sector.

The National Highways Infra Trust, backed by the National Highways Authority of India, aims to raise Rs 9,000 crore post-Diwali via debt and equity. This third fundraising round will monetize six 250km highway sections in stages, targeting both domestic and international investors.

Reliance Industries will launch India’s largest luxury mall, Jio World Plaza, in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex on November 1. Hosting brands like Bvlgari, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and Manish Malhotra, it’s set to be a premier shopping destination.

The Securities Appellate Tribunal has reversed the regulatory ban on Punit Goenka, CEO of Zee Entertainment. This allows Goenka to lead the upcoming merged entity of Zee and Sony Pictures Networks India.

Vodafone Idea is set to finalize funding discussions with investors this quarter, according to CEO Akshaya Moondra. An additional Rs 2,000 crore from promoters is expected alongside external investments. The company will repay the spectrum dues bank debt by March’s end.

Blackstone acquired 75% of Care Hospitals for $700 million and a stake in Kims Health. Subsequently, Care will gain a majority in Kims Health. Together, they’ll run 23 facilities across 11 cities.

The government’s fiscal deficit reached Rs 7.02 lakh crore in April-September, accounting for 39.3% of the year’s Rs 17.87 lakh crore target. This widened from Rs 6.43 lakh crore in April-August and is up from 37.3% of the previous year’s target for the same period.

India’s services PMI dipped to 58.4 in October from a 13-year high of 61 in September.

The Raymond Group confirmed its entry into the aerospace, defense, and electric vehicle (EV) component industry by purchasing a 59.25% share in Maini Precision Products Limited (MPPL) for a total of Rs 682 crore.

Zurich Insurance is set to acquire a majority stake in Kotak Mahindra General Insurance for Rs 4,051 crore, with further share purchases planned over three years. This move enables Kotak Mahindra Bank to align with mandates restricting bank ownership in insurers.
