The exchange classifies the scripts in the equity segment to different groups based on qualitative and quantitative parameters. For example you can look at the guidelines set for A group by BSE http://www.bseindia.com/downloads1/Guidelines_Group_A_Companies.pdf

F group consists of fixed income securities.
T group consists of trade to trade securities.
G group consist of government securities.
Z group consists of companies which have failed to comply with its listing requirements, failed to resolve investor complaints or have not made the required arrangements with both NSDL or CDSL for dematerialize of their securities.

Yeah I saw that Venu. Was little confused with the link http://www.bseindia.com/downloads/About/file/Criteria_for_Group_A.pdf
Anyhow I will reread that thing and see whether I could grasp anything out it.
I was more interested in A and B categories.

Marketwatch shows two stocks-IOLCP-BE and IOLCP. How are they different?

Stocks are moved to the BE category to curb excessive volatility when it happens with the aim of protecting the investor.
Once a stock is moved to the BE category, it cannot be traded for intraday or BTST. One has to take compulsory delivery of the stock, and can sell only after the stock comes into Demat after T+2 days.

How does it affect me in terms of stock movement? Is the stock movement expected to be the same as IOLCP stock?
