I use computer for trading journals instead of the paper diary so that can search easily. Small one.
What are you using or heard about for improving productivity. Share whatever your big or simple things.
to increase productivity i simply get away from the screen once my order is filled. so this way i can ride winners and not get tempted to book profit soon. of course, i see my position maybe once in 2 hrs to trail stop loss since i use 60 mins to trade.
My two cents,
1. Switch off that TV, what you see on it is anyway too late to react to. TV tends to hinder your decision making, if your strategy revolves around news, subscribe to a newswire.
2. Dual screen is actually quite affordable today, 5 to 6k and you have another montior and one of those splitters and you are set. Helps, if you like looking at charts, u can use one screen to look at the charts and another to research, ensuring that you don't move any price points when researching.
3. play a sport/workout and eat good food, not even funny how much your efficiency goes up.
4. Sleep well, no point tracking all the global markets late in the night or early morning, market will react to all of it only at 9am.
5. Take breaks when the going gets tough, Trading is very similar to say bodybuilding, when you are injured, it is best to rest. Trying to say workout when injured can be quite detrimental.
6. A journal is important, it is also important on what kind of data you store. So be smart about it, record details that actually will help you tomorrow.
7. Don't trade with scared money (probably the most important), the more scared you are about losing the higher the risk of you actually doing so. Your money is scared if it is leveraged, borrowed or something that you can't afford to loose.
