I have been a fan of Zerodha since I started investing in 2020, and I’ve loved every product they offer. However, in recent years, there seems to be more technical glitches rather than quality service. Is it just me, or has Zerodha stopped caring about its investors and traders?
These technical issues are causing people to lose money, and it’s becoming a frequent problem. The customer support, which used to be excellent, has also deteriorated. For instance, I have a ticket that’s been pending for four days despite their promise to respond within 24-48 hours.
To share my frustration: I’ve tried to enable the commodity segment multiple times, uploading my bank statement and receiving emails confirming the account modification request was received and approved. Yet, the segment is still not activated. I have no idea what’s going on.
Ok so the thing here is Commodity is enabled but the toggle is disabled as that toggle is for Zerodha Commodity Company (not sure what the exact name is) but the new Commodity is directly uses equity funds (and this account doesn’t have a toggle still). You can’t add funds to the commodity account but you can trade using the equity funds itself.
I was explained this in the ticket but didn’t quiet understand but they called and exaplained everything well. After that I tried placing a commodity order via equity funds and it went through.
TLDR: Commodity is activated for you and you can trade using equity funds. Ignore the commodity toggle and also you can’t add funds to the commodity account.
there is no other broker with customer support as good as zerodha’s. did you create a ticket about this issue before posting it here? yes, glitches are seen more frequently, but guess what, it’s with all brokers. they all face multiple issues every day. it’s just that everyone targets and tweets at zerodha because they respond honestly. unlike other brokers, where it’s like uber support, you don’t even get a response, so the ranting stops in time because no one listens.
