Does anyone know what happens if an intraday short position in the cash market cannot be squared off due to a circuit breaker? Will it be then converted into overnight(but then short position is not allowed overnight in the cash market by exchanges)

IT will result in delivery SALE thus will go to auction on T PLUS 3 day ,if you can not provide delivery . neither long position nor short position is allowed to be carried forward by exchanges to next trading day . it is that some broker provide 5 day facility on your purchase position by charging exorbitant amount of interest on full 5 days or even 7 days etc rather on t plus 2 basis.
