After aadhar verification on zerodha i got a message for IPV. I called up zerodha support and they told me that IPV is not mandatory.

Aadhaar eKYC requires Mobile OTP + Webcam IPV. Only then the eKYC is valid and complete. If you are already KYC verified, then you do not require to do KYC while opening an account online using Aadhaar. If you’re not KYC verified, then you have to do an Aadhaar eKYC to open your account online.

I opened account 18 months back., and doing trading at Zerodha. Today I linked Aadhar to my account. After. OTP verification, site asks for KYC and I filled. And then it asks online webcam IPV. As I already KYC compliance, I skipped. My Aadhar shall be updated?

If you have never verified yourself using the webcam IPV. Then you are most probably still needed to do it.

I never done using webcam IPV. So, I have to do now?

Yes. AFAIK, it is mandatory to have it done at least once.
