What is the difference between Close Price, LTP and Settlement Price for Equity Futures on NSE? Which Price should be considered for research and testing?

Hi vortex, Close price is last 30 mins average price(from 3 to 3.30) Zerodha has facility to identify projected closing price in their terminal. LTP is the price at which the last trade was happened Settlement price is the price at which the contracts will get settled on expiry date. Settlement price always equal to close price When the market opens on the next day the exchange will always use closing price of the prior day for their reference . So it’s always better to use closing price for all your research.

Let say bank nifty is trading today at 23400 and I short a 23400 call at 135 rupees. On expiry day bank nifty rises to 23700 and the closing price of 23400 call option at expiry is 332, LTP is 310 and settle price at expiry is 0. If I will not square off my position what will happen? Shall I get a profit of 135 (135-0) as settle price is zero or will make loss of 197 (135-332) or 175 (135-310). Please clarify my doubt.
