Divestment means Government of india dislodges its investments in a Public enterprises & they may issue the same to any QIP’s or to general public @ some discounted rate generally 5% . The recent activity of Disinvestment, of govt. is they sold 9% stake in Axis bank to raise Rs 5500/- to meet the Capital Account Deficiate.
