What’s the logic?

Nifty closed (i.e at 3.30 pm) at 10824 whereas Nifty Sep 10800 CE is trading at 5.30.
Per my understanding Nifty Sep 10800 CE should be trading around 24 in line with the spot. I understand Nifty settled price maybe different from this price, but why such a huge discount?

See the underlying value.

@trader_dude So then the real question is what is the definition of “Underlying value” as per the NSE site and why is the underlying value different from the closing price:

underlying is the index as per nse website. you can check the contract spec here.

how are they different?. They are the same 10,805.55. Where are you seeing the difference?

@trader_dude

Look at the closing price in the hover.

Thats the last traded price. But for option expiry, i believe the settlement price is considered which is 10,805.55. Someone correct me here if i am wrong.

Closing price is taken as the average price of the last 30 min & not LTP at closing.

@Gautam this would make sense – any source?

@trader_dude Then we would need to know the definition of settlement price in terms of traded price.

I suggest you go through the nse derivative segment thoroughly.
