2008 market fall happened in a span of 1 year(Jan2008-Mar2009). It started with the fall of several financial companies in US and its after effect spilling into europe & emeging markets(china, india, southeast asia).

Due to large number of retail investor participation. There is a movie called Inside Job. Every bit of info regarding that crash can be found in that movie.

Nice documentary. But, the 2008 market fall didnot happen becos of retail investor participation in the financial market.
i thought that it happened due to the fraud done by the big fishes to the retail investors…
