One sector which has not only underperformed from last 2 months but last 2 years is the most popular and favorite index for the traders i.e., Bank Nifty.
Nifty’s YTD returns are above 22% and Bank Nifty’s returns are hardly 12%.
Infact it is under risk to go below pre covid levels.
What can be the reason guys? Its kind of surprising to see the underperformance from bank nifty as globally banking stocks have done quite well from last 2 years.

Yes @joyesh . I checked the US banking index . they did 30%+ YTD …almost in line with the main indices.
Price action always indicates whats wrong with stocks or sector beforehand itself. hence many say…bhaav bhagwan che (price is God)

Now it needs to be seen if it becomes sell on rumours and buy the negative news for bank nifty as a whole.
institutions may sell smaller banks and buy the stronger banks like HDFC, ICICI
