You get the credit for the sales the very next day I suppose.
Whenever you sell shares from your demat account ,the amount will be credited on the same day but you can withdraw it only after T + 2 Day settlement
Usually, when you sell equity shares from your demat account, your trading account balance increases immediately, enabling you to use those funds for some other trade/investing. (Broker will allow you to use those funds only for further trading and not for withdrawal, the reason he allows you to do further trading is that he is kind of assured of getting those funds from clearing member in two days time)
But the funds will actually be received from the clearing member to your trading account on T+2 days, 2 days from your sale. If you sell today, it will become your funds from day after tomorrow.
So on day after tomorrow, if you initiate a fund transfer request with your broker, you could get the funds, may be on the 3rd day to your savings bank account. The time taken by brokers vary with respect to funds withdrawal from trading account. Zerodha takes one day, if you initiate the withdrawal request before evening.
Hi Basu, the T+2 that you have mentioned is it due to the settlement process or are you consideration a withdrawal process
Hi Salman,
Its a settlement process
