Where does pending "used margin" go?

Hi,

I had asked for this doubt before but it remains unclear. Hence I am asking with an explicit example.

I had squared off all my index options positions and no order is pending. Used margin is shown as ₹26,245. Will this amount be added to “Available Cash” or “Available Margin” ? or it is just for depiction and vanish tomorrow? Where is it used ( as I don’t hold any positions )

Why "used margin" is displayed even when all positions closed

Hi @Mahadevan-Iyer Used margin basically gives us an idea about the amount used or credited from today’s transactions. mainly used to denote how much margin we have used/received when compared to yesterday’s closing amount which is denoted by available cash. Used margin is added immediately to Available margin once the positions are squared off.

That’s correct. It depicts the margins used during that particular day. Once the day is over, the used margin field for that day becomes zero
