Why did Nippon Hang seng bees etf fall?

On 18th May 2024, there were only buyers left for Nippon Hang seng bees etf but it still fell 3%, What could be the reason?

Same weird phenomenon has been seen in MAFANG etf. Seems it’s common among the etf having small market cap and low liquidity.

Hang seng index is also positive last 3 days

MAFANG was trading at a high premium. it is just correcting to iNAV. I remember it being 10-15% above iNAV, which is just ridiculously expensive and bound to fall.

Same is the case with Hang Seng BeES. Market value is 302. iNAV is 290.

So people are not paying premium anymore.

All of these rose in market value but not actual value of underlying assets (the stocks the ETFs own) since RBI restricted inflows in foreign funds, so people were trying to get in before restrictions hit I guess. My reasoning could be wrong

Always check iNAV for ETFs. Or stick to mutual funds for not bothering with these headaches😁

that 302 was bcos sellers weren’t there, only buy orders. Otherwise its around 310.
thats alot of premium to pay

True.
Risking 15% to earn few % extra

Hi! Is there a regulation or system where INAV price should eventually become equal with NAV. It has been weeks but still there is difference. I want to buy but not at risky premium gap

Market price is what you are talking about. It is determined by market. If someone is willing to pay more how can SEBI block that. No such regulation.

Invest in mutual fund. No premium, no discount drama.
