Why Dow Futures Indicates and why?

I want to know why Dow Future’s are open even after US markets get closed. Also why SGx Nifty is so important before Indian markets get opened.

Its often said Before Indian markets get open in morning that SGX Nifty indicates negative opening.

So who really trades Sgx Nifty i feel its Singapore Nifty maybe.Whats actually these sgx nifty and Dow futures and why Dow futures is taken as indicator before US markets open at 8pm.

Ideally market (Index) should open 24 hours, if any event happens at night 9 pm, atleast you can trade and cut your positions.

That is why Dow futures trade full day (22 hours exactly if i recall correctly)

But our Indian Nifty futures dont trade after 3:30 pm, so we are at disadvantage, if anything happens in night, we open gap up or gap down next morning.

SGX Nifty traded in Singapore, it just follows Dow jones in night time that’s it.

So you mean to say since Dow Jones Futures is open 22 hrs so if any good or bad event happens after market close in USA than Investors can hedge position by either buying Index futures or selling Index Futures or through Options right . ( Correct me If I am Wrong)

Last thing if it opens 22hrs so it also means that Broker Terminal also remain open for trading in DOw Futures for 22 hrs as per convenience of Investor . Here also only buy and sell in Futures or Options too like buy call sell call buy put sell put. I mean to say that all Instruments in Index are opened for 22hrs or selected ones.

Not sure about that, maybe others can answer. I dont actively trade there just follow for impact on our markets.

But as far as I know, yes only the Dow futures is open there full day. Rest stocks etc open in proper market hours morning to afternoon.
