Why is the closing price in the marketwatch and the chart different?

Closing price on marketwatch is the last 30 mins adjusted average closing price (that is how exchanges determine closing price of the day, check this link). Closing price on the chart is the last traded price. Last 30 mins as the chart shows, the market has moved quite a bit, hence the adjusted price is 111.9 whereas last traded price was 114.75.

If you change the time frame to day, you will see that marketwatch closing and chart last traded price matches. This is because we collect end of day data published by exchanges and use it to form daily OHLC.
