Why profit or loss should get affected when orders are placed

Say I have a total of Rs 1000 profit in my Holdings & I have a 10 shares of ABC which are at loss of Rs.100.
Now, if I place order to sell say 5 of these shares, the profit shown in Holdings in kite increases.
Is this behaviour correct? What’s the reasoning & any reference to more details regarding this logic?

Thanks,

If you sell out the Holding with the -200 loss, then your Total P&L for the remaining 2 Holdings is +1200.

@BharatW I have just placed the order & they are not executed yet. Still the profit shown is 1200. Isn’t this wrong?

@Ankit_Ek,

If you have 3 Holdings with a P&L of +700, +500 and -200, then your total P&L is +1000. If you sell out the Holding with the -200 loss, then your Total P&L for the remaining 2 Holdings is +1200. Hope this clarifies.
