Why (real-time) Index Volumes are not provided by exchange?

Why don’t we get the real-time update of Volumes traded for any Index from NSE on any charting?

When the Index spot value is determined by the price change with weightage of constituents, why is there is no volumes in real-time update pushed to charts? We do have an update of Shares Traded (see below) in historical data available on NSE website (which I presume is the consolidated volumes trade on the constituents) but we never get the feed of volumes in real-time. I know Index is not a tradable instrument, as it is, but why volumes cannot be provided by the exchange which will actually help develop some insights, such as the strength of the trend itself.

@Karthik @nithin any thoughts on this please?

No update yet ?

Technically exchanges could stream this data of shares traded and turnover live by collating data across the 50 stocks that make Nifty. Maybe you can write to them requesting for this.

But personally I don’t know if it is wise tracking this data. There are many block/bulk deals that happen on the exchange, which might get you take a wrong trading decision if you are relying on this. These block deals will be of huge volumes, and will skew the exchange volume data.
