Why sebi is mostly against retailers using algo in trading

@nithin I have seen pattern that when it comes to individual traders sebi and nse are somewhat not in favour of using algo by normal people ,anyway most of them are losing why not lose it by using algo as most of the money is made by institutions which always trade by this method

Query on future of APIs for traders

So, as per my understanding. Open APIs for savvy traders should be possible. But yeah, through static IPs to validate. I think we should be able to continue offering Kite connect APIs. So people who rely on others for Algos, that is a little grey. They expect the brokers to validate a strategy through which an order is placed, and that strategy has to be registered at the broker’s end. So essentially, the Algo has to be run on the broker’s system; I don’t know if this is possible.

If I use an API to only read data for analysis but Trade manually will the new SEBI proposals affect me ?

Can brokers provide a Data only API without the ability to Trade.
Hopefully that can be done without too many restrictions like Static IPs, algo registration etc.
