this might help long term investors to earn money from shares laying idle in Demat account.

The markets are currently illiquid as SLB is possible on only stocks which are on derivatives. It is so much more easier to trade on F&O than on SLB. But SEBI moving towards physical settlement of stocks in derivatives, I think SLB will start becoming active. We will keep a watch on this, enable it whenever the activity on SLB picks up.
What is the status now?
I checked the exchange website.
I find zero nil volume liquidity .
Is it so ?
If it is so then why should i b showing interest in participating on the SLB platform?
Or am i missing something?
You wanted to know the status of SLB at Zerodha. Well, now Zerodha is offering SLB, it’s upto you whether you want to trade in that platform or not.
Just wanted to share this information. If a person is contemplating to borrow securities under the SLB scheme, then they will have to compulsorily register themselves under GST, irrespective of the turnover (or) consideration paid.
If you are a lender of securities, then registration under GST is not mandatory. However, the normal registration criteria will still be applicable (meaning, if you meet the normal criteria, you will still be required to register yourself under GST).
So, the added compliance (and compliance cost) also has to be considered when you are on the borrowing side.
