Suppose, my company granted me 4000 shares of RSUs.
3,000 RSU’s are vested and I leave the company and the company is not yet public (no IPO yet) What happens to the vested RSU in this case?
Do I lose all the vested RSUs as the company is not yet public?
This is something to ask the company HR, about RSU policy.
Recently there was an OpenAI drama where they said vested stocks would be withheld if people don’t sign NDAs when leaving. So it is very much possible.
They can’t take it from you, but since company is not public, they can restrict its sale, making its value 0
