Zerodha Charts - CPU usage

I am having constantly CPU usage of my machine spiking to 50% and above. Most times is around 30%.

My Setup is as follows:

Make: Dell
Processor: Intel Core i3
OS: Windows 10
RAM: 8 GB
Monitor: 2 Monitors : Laptop monitor + Extended with LG 22 inch monitor.
Browser used: Chrome.
Hardisk type: 500 GB Hard drive (It is NOT SSD )

I typically have a Zeordha order/positions page, Nifty Bank Spot Chart on the laptop monitor. And in the extended monitor, I have couple of option charts (one PE and one CE), I am looking to trade.

Is this normal to have High CPU utilization or how about in your terminals, Please comment. Thanks

Thanks @Balamurugan_Rajan for raising this.

I too have noticed it, and attributed it to how Chrome works. My dad too faces this issue. System applications work fine, only Chrome slows down. With only two charts, the CPU usage spikes. I had removed the cookies, my history and cleaned temp file too. Still the issue persists.

Once I close Kite, everything comes to normal. I can do all the activities in chrome seemlessly.

If someone can share a hack, Bala’s, my dad’s and my laptop would be greatful.

I have never noticed such an issue, kite works fine on chrome or any browser.
Are you facing any issue of page hanging? or is your chrome browser hanging? how many tabs you have kept open?
we can check tab wise memory and CPU utilization on chrome task manager using shortcut Shift + Esc key. Can you check which tab is utilizing more resources?

Thank you. I will check the individual tab using the short cut. I have also cleared cookies and caches. Let me see if that reduces the utilization.

The page is not hanging… I see some momentary slow down. Usually, I have around 4 to 5 tabs open.

Don’t you think this might be due to external monitor? I’ve i5 4th gen laptop with 4GB ram and have 5-6 tabs open but haven’t faced any slowdown issues.

After clearing cookies and cache, history, it looks like CPU usage has become normal. It could be Chrome specific issue.

yes, you can keep chrome fast by clearing cookies etc , you can always check tab cpu usage by above steps.

Hi,

I am also facing similar issue. After few minutes of runing Zerodha, my system lags a lot. Even moving mouse will take a lot of time. Just like what we see in high graphics game while playing.

I tried above solution but still face the same issue. And clearing cookies lead to deleting all my chart layouts.

Only two tabs open, Zerodha Order and Chart Windows and NSE website. Tried using even in Mozilla but same lagging issue.

My current solution, As soon as I see lag in my system, I am closing Zerodha, after 5 mins system is back to normal.

My PC configuration
ThinkPad
AMD Ryzen 7 2800
Ram 24GB
ISP - Airtel (200mbps)
OS running on M2 Drive

Below screenshot is taken when my system was hanging.
