I wish to invest in companies that have inclusive employee policies (also on the executive board level), Commitment to carbon neutrality and active work on it, not just greenwashing and propaganda, and a business model that moves away from fossil fuels.
The existing indices like BSE Greenex and CARBONEX are still placing high Reliance, Tata, Mahindra and companies with nearly all male board.
ESG score provided by SES is still very much the same thus ESG mutual funds are not suitable either.
It is very likely that this will a smaller list of companies, and with less profits since they’ll go towards offsetting carbon. So fund performance will not be a priority but rather sticking to the principles.
