Acessing Shares bought through other broker's demat account in the past through Zerodha

One of my friends wants to open an account at Zerodha.

He already has an account at Sharekhan from 5 years.

Now he wants to close that and switch to zerodha.

He has made invesment of 10,000 Rs. in Unitech long long back.

Now he is asking me that can he get access to those shares bought through Sharekhan when he will open and account through Zerodha and start trading through Kite?

If yes If there is some procedure he needs to do for that, then what is it?
