Discontinuation of Tagging feature for derivative trades?

I received an email from zerodha that the Tagging feature for derivative trades will discontinued. I personally use tags to segragate between different strategies that I deploy in options trades.

I want to appeal to Zerodha to not discontinue Tags for derivatives as it will hamper all my efforts put into using Tags for options trades.

We’re working on an improved version of tags and will share more details soon. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We’ve made some updates to the tagging feature on Console. Starting September 7, 2024, you’ll no longer be able to tag derivative trades, view P&L, or break down holdings by tags, as we are refining the feature for a better experience. The “Analyse Tags” page and the tagging option in the Kite order window will also be removed.

However, you can still tag your holdings on the Console and filter them according to your preferences.

Why are you discontinuing it in a hurry? You can discontinue tags when you roll out the improved version of tags. All my strategies are going to go for a toss once tags are discontinued. What shall I do till the time you roll out your improved version of tags? Has there been a thought given to how it will impact the clients who are actuaally using tags?

Due to low adoption, we have made the decision to discontinue this feature. We’re currently developing an enhanced version of tags and will provide more information soon. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding

But why discontinue in a hurry? Why not discontinue the existing tags once you roll out your improved version of tags? Please take this up to your reporting manager and revert

Unfortunately, the changes have already been implemented, and the decision was not made in haste. After careful consideration and an extended evaluation period, we decided to discontinue the feature due to its low adoption

Please take this up to appropriate authority as an appeal to not discontinue the tagging feature for derivatives until the improved version of tags is released. If tags are still discontinued, we have no choice but to move to another broker.

Will it continue to be part of API orders?

Also just removing it with one day’s notice is unfair. Some other replacement should be in place before doing this.

Can someone share the screenshot of how tagging looks like in derivatives. I alway wish this feature exists and never know it existed

@Deeps, will this newer version also helps to tag diff strategies ?

It will be discontinued from 7th Sep

Will it be discontinued for Kite Connect API as well? Orders - Kite Connect 3 / API documentation

If you are an employee of Zerodha, please add the logo to your profile like @ShubhS9 @Bhuvan have

Why do you do in a short notice? Low adoption doesn’t mean no adoption. Does this stop the tags that we pass through the orders api?

Discontinuing the tags feature has been very distuptive to me. It was a great feature and I wish you can find a way for the people who were currently using it, to be able to access it at least until our existing trades are cleared.

Also, what is the new enhanced version for this tagging feature and by when will it be implemented.

Really regretting discontinuation of tagging, it was very helpful in keeping track of multiple trades.
