Why I am seeing green dot in every tab in watchlist in orders in portfolio in bids and in account section also from my last update?
hey @BIR ,
The green dot indicates that you are connected to the internet. When your internet connection becomes weak, the green dot turns yellow, and if youāre not connected at all, the yellow dot keeps jumping.
Additionally, this dot is not shown when sticky pins are enabled.
Yesā¦
hmmm would have made more sense if the green dot showed market status green dot for live market and yellow for After market hours ā¦ anythoughts
Ya I agree with you , green dot for live market is best to show, showing internet connect our not is useless feature @Arockiya_Raja @siva
Sometimes it can be challenging for users to identify connectivity issues. This can help in identifying whether the user has any connectivity issues or not.
The status of whether the market is open or closed is a completely different feature.
Ya this is useless plz bring live market signal in red green dot that will more useful compair to this @Arockiya_Raja
Some people might find this feature pointless too, since market timings are usually fixed.
Plus, whenever thereās a market holiday, the Kite app gives a pop-up saying the market is closed today.
Showing green dot for connection is also useless because when network connection weak our lost they already show by pop up
What good is a colored dot If it is not obvious to the user what it means.
(and there is no obvious way for teh user to find out without having to ask on this forum).
Have you considered showing some universally established recognisable icons for signal/network connectivity instead?
Also, can you make it such that tapping or long-pressing the symbol,
popās up a modal that plainly simply describes this feature
along with the list of various possible states and respective images of the icons.
Past few months, they have brought many features which nobody asked for & are pretty much useless. And then you have many features which people have been asking for years.
The previous ones were/are a hinderance, but despite the negative feedback, they didnāt take it back or made it optional. Shows a bit of arrogancyā¦
Donāt know if these even get tested by experienced traders before being released, or they just test it among themselvesā¦
Users can instantly identify connectivity issues themselves and take necessary actions, such as switching networks or contacting their internet service provider, without needing to delve deep into settings or contact customer support.
This popup appears when the user switches between pages. The user may not be aware if the LTP is not updating due to connectivity issues.
We are discussing displaying only orange while attempting to connect to the internet, and it may no longer display green. There will be a slight evolution in this feature.
There isnāt a single universally established icon specifically for āInternet Connectivityā. The method we use is a common approach used in platforms.
Before launching any new feature, numerous iterations are conducted to ensure provide better experience. Features are typically built based on valuable user feedback, and innovative elements are introduced to enhance the product, even if they havenāt been directly requested. Recognizing that it is challenging to meet every individual preference with each feature. Making every feature optional is not practical, as it would introduce undue complexity and result in a myriad of settings used by only a small fraction of users.
In a couple of scenarios, we have reverted changes based on the clientās feedback.
This would be a good alternative to the current one, as ppl donāt need to know when their connection is good, they only need to be notified when the internet connection is patchy/weak, and having a bouncing dot would draw quick user attention to this.
Iām sure that happens, but my point was different. To repeat, point was whether this testing phase involves experienced traders, whose only/majority income is through trading, who sit in front of the screen for 6 hours and 15 minutes day in day out, irrespective of it being a bull/bear phaseā¦
It isnāt about innovative features, or individual features. Most people have been asking for some very basic features for years, and instead of those being implemented, weāre seeing these useless features. I could list those but there are plenty of threads here which serve the same purpose.
And it isnāt even about launching new features, just sticking with old features also works fine.
A lot of these arenāt even useless, they are an actual hindrance. āUselessā would mean something like āprivacy modeā, which you can ignore if you donāt find it useful.
we have reverted changes based on the clientās feedback
But not in the instances I pointed above, where to again repeat myself, there has been valid criticism from old experienced traders. But you & the team just donāt careā¦
Anyway, like the SEBIās feedback form for the new F&O norms, this forum too is a hogwash when it comes to features/feedback, so whateverā¦
