I used to write short strangles in bnf every week. Almost made 15k over the span of 11 trades over 3 months. I lost 10 k in one short strangle gone wrong when corona hit.
I dont know the first thing about looking at iv charts and predicting if iv will rise or fall.

Finally liquidity returning to crudeoil before crash levels, however reduced timings taking a toll on positional as well as intraday strategies these days. Prices average for all not actual.

Made 11.4K today. Took a short trade in the morning followed by 2 Long Trades. 1 SL hit with 30 Pts and 2 Winning Trades (1Long + 1Short). CHEERS

Finally ended with 12.2K for the day. Took 4 trades with 1 Lot of NF. 1 SL Hit. Congrats @samsingh for the MEGA Profit. If I were you I would have fainted after seeing such huge profits like 7.3 Lacs

Hi am very new to option trading, in fact i only started this week. Here is my position for today looking to carry over to next week.
Dear @Brainfreeze Next week try to get out of the position as early as possible. 10K CE is far out of money and time decay will be very fast and theta will be zero.
What is the money required to trade one lot of nifty Futures in Cover Order ?
Is there any link which updates daily to calculate the money required for one lot of nifty futures

Few days back (last Friday) when I took my 1st CO trade in NF the margin was around 16K but after a couple of days I checked and it was 24K around and lateron even more. But I have not checked the exact margin requirement since yesterday. May be due to high volatility Zerodha asks for different margins on different days (depending on volatility & big events).

I didn’t follow proper discipline today exited the trade quickly and then there was this huge downfall of the price. I guess Murphy’s law acts on me a little too much

Thanks! No because crudeoil has lost its liquidity since almost a month now, I can’t punch big orders like 500 lots in one go, now a days there is slippage for even 100 lots, but its improving from this week. Today, I had to punch multiple orders of 75 and 60 lots and hence you see the total lots traded as 245. Imagine the profit if I could have punched 500 lots, so these days one has to trade comparatively lower number of lots and be extra cautious because of reduced timings if one has to make adjustments to the strategy.
I took two trades- one was a long (countertrend), and one short.
Don’t worry, some mistakes are bound to happen coz we are humans after all, what matters is staying in the green zone at eod every day/week and eventually reducing the mistakes next to ‘zero’.

You are an inspiration man 
Are you referring to 500lots in total or are you one of those guys(see chart below) who give force to the trend by punching in 500lots at one go.
I am referring to the selected candle which had 1k volume and which helped breaking the LC in the next candle. Just wondering.
Did you take a trade after 2pm? 
Yes, I see how important it is to be in green at EOD. Never thought discipline would mean so much in any particular field as it means here in trading.
