Definetly Yes. Also authorize before selling as it will secure you from penalties for short Delivery.
Yes you can but it is risky if you forget to authorize it.
Infact, Even if we fail to authorize the shares before selling from holding. When we attempt to sell it from holdings it takes us to CDSL website for authorization, Then how can one get into short delivery.
In that case, how can one get a risk?
“Also authorize before selling”???
Do one need to authorize it before selling and after selling of shares from holdings ???
Kindly explain
You’ll need to authorize before selling the shares. The process has been explained in detail here.
“It is best to have all your stock holdings authorised to sell, so you don’t have to do this process multiple times. This authorisation is valid for a maximum of 90 days, after which you will have to go through this authorisation process once again.”
These words are taken from zerodha’s blog.
Say for example. What will happen? If a client unknowing authorising his holdings once again even after authorising his holdings before.
And, how will a client come to know that his holding stocks are already been authorised.?
Any Problem with multiple entry authorisation. ?
The authorization now remains valid only for a day, after recent update from CDSL. You can check more on this here.
So each day you want to sell shares from your holdings, you’ll have to authorize.
Say, Incase of not authorising the shares first and selling it. How and when will one know that he has incurred an short delivery penalty? @ShubhS9
Exactly my question today…
It is should be clearly srated that for those who are selling from their holdings, they can’t proceed without eDIS authentication.
May be it is an implicit assumption but it should be explicitly mentioned on Support Page. So that there is no uncertaintly or ambuguity.
