Need advice on how to present myself as an algo trader in arrange marriage

Her parents are classic old-timers, but she would have been open to it,
And really - for my ‘imaginary daughter’ I would love to find a successful trader husband because I know the freedom it can bring. Must admit I have the advantage of being able to spot successful traders with good risk management.

Home office will have other staff right which means, the person need to get up, dress up and go to that office or room where others will be there separate from home. He/she sits there and not a disturbance to the home.

I was referring to a guy, who wakes up in the morning goes to the front room, puts on light (waste of electricity), puts on table fan, puts his legs on the table and sits in front of computer, wearing his lungi or pyjama and keeps chatting with friends over mobile phone and tells everyone he is trading and earning 9,99,99,999 annually.

Another imaginary situation with my imaginary daughter, both of them come to my home, how do I introduce him to my neigbour? I need to bear the snigger my neigbour/relatives will have when I say he sits at home and works and he earns 83,33,333.25 per month.

i want to try this sceanio with my real neighbour and see their reaction…Eighty three lakh thirty three thousand three hundred and thirty three and paisa twenty five ONLY per month SITTING AT HOME and earning. (wrote in words for impact and in our town we say salary in month and not annually. If I even try to say the amount annually, my neighbour may laugh and fall down and break his whatever…).

How many do you think will believe my story…

To add twist to the tale, I stay in a small town. If I tell this to even Basant Maheswari or Saurabh Mukerjea, he too may nod his head and say “Yeah, I truly will try to believe you”

Previously, trading as a full time profession was rightfully (IMO) considered as the riskiest thing one person can do.

But, from last 2-3 years, things are improving. Nothing much has changed risk wise but society is gradually accepting it as it is becoming more mainstream.

In the initial years, it is always prudent to get a job or run another business atleast for some years to get the requisite industry and market knowledge and necessary capital and temperament before becoming a full time trader.

@rahulchoudhary96 , All the best for your biggest battle before the WAR :stuck_out_tongue: We are all rooting for you

9 cr per annum you say?
His Porsche (he will have time to visit you) will make a believer out of your neighbours. You can tell your neighbours that your imaginary son-in-law is a savvy investor managing 100cr+ pf including real estate and financial assets.

Nehaji, What matters is our happiness and the time we spend to keep our relationships fresh and fulfilled. For everything else, including perceptions - there’s “mastercard” :innocent:

Indeed, money talks, @neha1101 if he is successful your neighbours will give money to your “imaginary son in law” . Furus these days earning crores per month selling education contents and tips on telegram.

There are enough money in dream selling business. Also, things gets different after and before marriage especially arrange marriage

@rahulchoudhary96 did you get what you were looking for ?

Advertise as “Retired” .

Also, don’t forget to mention these keywords: “seeking women who are interested in travelling the world. Also, prospective in-law’s should be flexible for international travel on short notice.”

Wait and watch the prospective in-laws queue up on your doorstep with their daughter’s bio-data.

Not so far, I think. But good to read everyone’s opinion.

I got married when I was practising as a CA however later I moved to full-time trading (never really got into dating) however as I was switching everything (as I believe it would be a violation of the code of conduct of ICAI for CA in the profession to be into Securities Speculation) my wife told me not to put everything into trading.
Even now if I assume my net worth to be 100
I trade with 60-70
40-50 of that is invested into MFs and Gsecs that give somewhat fixed and stable returns to be around 0.5- 0.8% p.m. (not really compounded)
this actually gives my family a sense of financial stability and every other pro of being a trader.
on note my wife doesn’t dislike me being at home, she enjoys it so do my kids.
I really liked the opinion that @neha1101 presented but can’t say I completely agree with that.
So even when we meet any relatives at any function, event or any other gathering I’m introduced as a “fund manager” more than just a trader.
And since we don’t really live a high-end lifestyle once my neighbours told me they thought I did something illegal to get money as they have seen neither me nor my wife “going out for work”.

Imaginary daughter or Imaginary son could date and go with an Imaginary partner who is trading in the stock market or some where else. Imaginary parents may not have much of a say :grinning:

Definitely!!

That could be counter productive as well. Imaginary girl will use imaginary boy’s money and make him pay for dates at fancy restaurants and then say that her parents are not agreeing to marry her to a trader

Francise is easy way. There are ample business get sold off everyday due to retirement, lack of interest. So , may be you need to invest sometime there but running a business is easier than it was before and can be managed by one

My wife’s likes it when I work from home. These days most of the things are digital and my physical presence isn’t really required in the office. Even signatures are digital.

What makes you say that. This is a myth that people have. Might be true with celebrities but not with ordinary folks

Just to have fine dinner free at chappanbhog you think a girl will tag along with a guy whom she is not interested. Come on the girls have better things to do like applying nail polish than go and eat free water balls or pani puri as it is called.

All sorts of myth going around….

I couldn’t help but chime in. Its not a myth. You may not be like that. But there are lot who do that. It certainly is not a myth.

Agreed - I fully accept - The trading guy just stay away from my imaginary daughter. Story ends.
