issue with kite, 503 and blank page
woke late, not even able to login. Got in after 5 min and this page again, looks like itās game day againā¦
Able to execute orders, able to search for option strikes and sell them one by one. Not able to add to watchlist.
charts are plotting, unable to view open interest in charts.
I see here that the marriage goes on intact despite the flaws.
Divorced is out of the question. Keep updating the glitches.
I ll go to hell secretly enjoying these glitches.
Zerodha still does not feel completely stable yet, many small issues - esp around open.
Just fyi,
- 2 second delay in validation pending today for new order at 0916. Normally its instant
- For 3-4 seconds after sending orders, orderbook was still empty (api) at 0916.
- Console was not really working for a while. Lots of errors
- No STT in contract note and i think also not deducted from balance.
Glimpse of a fairer alternate universe where STT does not exist, but meanwhile we will have to reconcile all of this once Z corrects. -

This is not getting updated and has issues. Nov is still there, and only 3 contracts from dec.
@Meher_Smaran, thereās also an issue of strikes not being available on Kite App, but being available on Kite Web. Been noticing this since the last weekā¦
I execute straddles in a basket. Total 4 orders in the basket. First two orders are far otm buy legs. Last 2 orders are atm options(straddle) short. Iām only talking about expiry day trade where all option strikes are allowed.
Maximum days, the whole position gets executed. But then on days like today, it throws a margin error and only executes the buy legs. Then I have to reset the basket, delete buy legs and execute it again. Which causes slippage as I manage two accounts.
I would like to clarify that if the short legs were executed on their own, they would fail becasue of margin. They can only be executed after far otms have already been bought. So thatās that. But almost all days, I can execute the basket and it works with buys going first and shorts going later. And then it randomly stops working on a few days every month. This creates uncertainty and doubt which is not good.
Is there anyway to fix this?
Yeah, appears to be fine, for nowā¦
- yet again, 7-8 s delay in validation pending today for all my orders.
Is this load related ? Can Z increase capacity, as moves right now isnt that much compared to 2020 days.
Was ok since last complaint. In old days this used to happen a lot - any kind of large move in in market and brokers would start having issues. It isnāt that bad as before, but still these delays are getting very regular now - happening multiple times a month.
- This is still not solved. Its easy to inspect this url and search for DEC. This is broken since couple of weeks.
I agree. Same thing I have experienced, thers always a delay when market opens in positions reflecting ,in loading charts , but zerodha hasnāt been doing anything. Even my authentication has to be done twice on most days because zerodha doesnāt seem to get it right the first time to place any order!! This is really frustrating to put in otps multiple times. It tells u can now execute the order and again takes me to same page of authentication.
I open order window and set limit price and CMP was 40 INR below of limit price, I click BUY button but order got fulfilled at limit price - 12 points. when I open position I was already loss at 40 points.
order didnāt executed immediately even after CMP was less than limit price. order should be executed at CMP if limit price above CMP. please fix this.
12-13 second delay in all my orders today.
Ticket is already created for this, but ill just keep updating this thread as a log of the issue.
@nithin Over past two month we faced glitches and issues more than we faced in last 3 years. Something has changed in Zerodha which is very concerning . Every day we face some issues or the other.
Please spare some time to go through each issues and have some system stability!!
This is happening in one of our silos when there is a sudden bump in activity. We are working on ensuring the validation pending status is as low as possible.
Its been almost a month. I thought this got fixed, my ticket was closed too.
But unfortunately, its not fixed. Maybe we did not have that much activity due to new year.
Today, we had a medium gap ( atleast relative to recent times ⦠), and i got 15s delay again. Got some extra slippages because of that.
Problem remained for a few minutes. Is there a capacity issue ??
@Meher_Smaran - i will link to this comment in the ticket i guess.
NOTE - after last comment and before this - i had perfect execution every day. No delay.
When large moves happen is when some of us might make money on balance, while other days cancel out. So, its kinda risky for system to not get execution on days like today. So far, i have managed to get fills, only with some extra slippage.
I only got a generic reply blaming exchange or leased lines ( not even specifying which ).
While we did get some movement today, this is nothing like covid times. And this delay of 15s, more than few seconds, lasted for orders 2-3 mins after the open.
So if covid type moves happen again, should we expect longer wait lines ?
During covid, i used to be able send orders via interactive brokers without much issue during opening mins.
Granted they are much smaller in India, but still this seems like an excuse.
Zerodha makes good money, why not invest in more bandwitdh if leased line capacity is the issue. We will always have burst of activity from time to time, thatās how markets are and systems should be designed for that. And if exchange is the isssue, and this seems to be a regular issue now, should brokers not push them to improve things.
Disappointed by this reply really ā¦
As per the above-mentioned query, we would like to inform you that the delay in order placement when the market opens can be because of one of two reasons:
Exchange capacity to handle orders: If the number of orders exceeds the maximum number of orders the exchange can handle, then the exchange lines can get choked, and the order can take up to a few seconds to go through.
Order queue from the broker: Every broker is connected to exchanges via leased lines with a certain order per second capacity. If the order capacity is breached, they get in a queue, and the orders can take a few seconds to go through.
Hope this helps to clarify the query. You can update this ticket if you have any concerns or queries, and we will get back to you.
