To bring uniformity in expiry dates of weekly and monthly expiry day, NSE has announced a revision in the expiry day of monthly & quarterly Futures and Options contracts on Nifty Bank (BANKNIFTY) from Thursday to Wednesday. The changes will come into effect from March 01, 2024.

Note: If Wednesday is a trading holiday, the previous trading day will be the expiry date.
How does this work?
- At the end of the day on February 29, 2024, the expiry date of all monthly and quarterly contracts will be revised to Wednesday as mentioned above.
The first Wednesday monthly Bank Nifty expiry will be on March 27th, 2024.
There is no change in expiry date of monthly expiry contracts of January 2024 and February 2024
Does this affect my open positions?
No, this does not affect the open positions you hold. The change is only in the expiry day of the contract. All other contract specifications remain the same.
