has anyone experience/traded the seconds bar?

if you trade in seconds then you closest competiotion is with algos & bots. good luck :+1:

there is no meaning behind the “seconds” candles, pure volatility

there must be people who trade seconds. I can now trade well the 1 minute bar. Previously, I thought 1 min was all noise. But that’s until you do it.

We generally tend to think, no one can do it, if we can’t.

But tradingview has put it for a reason.

There is a physical limitation to how much we can process, and I came across a comment that we read at the same rate, as people who read thousands of years ago.

I do know that each person is different when it comes to cognitive abilities, but there is a limitation both at individual level and collective level. Human endeavors don’t have any boundaries, but human abilities do.

Drawing needs the synchronization between eyes, mind and hand, so if we want to trade in seconds, we need the same synchronization, but that should be at great speed, which may not possible, there could be a lag at one or the other.

Unless we try we don’t know if we could do it or not, so do try, but we cannot compete with the speed of code is all I am saying, considering the time frame of a few seconds. 30 seconds looks alright though.

@Celina

You will get head aache for sure if you use that.

I’m insanely expert on this. :partying_face: I know how to screwed and fd in less than 120 seconds. I’ve experienced this more than 250 times.

absolutely true

Frankly just going below 5 min especially 1 min is compete waste of time. It’s mostly noise. Why even bother seeing chart ? Just trade seeing the depth of market. You are trading using the feel or using instinct isn’t it ?

I can’t say this for sure. But back in 2011 when I was 15 and had crazy cult experience with a dealing desk broker called integrated enterprises (now integrated investments), they had a big AC room with many computers , agents with phone calls and so many traders just standing around all looking at fast moving numbers in black screen that flashed here and there and stock scrips would always be rearranging themselves. I always thought they were some crazy cult praying to devil to provide money or something like that and they probably inducted me too.

But now when I recollect back , I believe they kinda trade like the way you mentioned , it’s just they don’t see any graph and they just see the dept of market (ask-bid) or the ticket tape and take trades based on volatility. Their trades were very short too , I remember a time when one of the guy would yell to close the position if price and the agent would close it down. I noticed they all had notes in their hand and would write + or - pips and scripts. Some literally know the news event ,and would trade based on that.

Now to answer your question ,do people trade on seconds time frame ? Yes , though not looking at chart. Are they profitable ? I have no idea. (Honestly wish I collected their landline or phone numbers to ask if they were profitable later)

I trade well in 1 minute bar.

People can have opinions. It’s understandable.
