As a broker having markets open for 24 x 7 is good for the business in terms of revenue for sure. 
But I personally think it is detrimental to a traders mental health in the long run. If it isn’t good for the trader, it isn’t good for the brokerage firm in the long run as well. Trading is stressful and not having markets open all the time gives traders important break from the markets.
