It was clarified by Nithin that the problem was at the end of BSE not Zerodha. Nithin has been acceptable for the mistakes done by Zerodha he has been open and transperant about them however you can make Zerodha or any broker liable for mistake or problems that occurs at the end of the exchanges or depositories.

This is a valid point, but will the telecom companies agree to such terms & conditions?
The risk that occurs due to a downtime will be 1000x to 10000x the monthly rental - so which telecom provider will agree to this?
Is there another way to handle this if BSE penalizes the leased line provider?
I too on a miniature scale run into these issues daily. I have kept 3 internet services active - Jio fiber, Airtel, Jio-5g. Every now and then one of them crashes & I have to switch the network.

Since the conversation is not heading anywhere, let me try to propose a solution.
Those who have lost money & who believe its not their fault could go ahead & raise a SCORES complaint with SEBI. I am sure they will do a detailed audit. I personally have raised more than 5 complaints in last 2 years.
If you are not sure to whom to assign the complaint to, the first choice is against the Trading Member. If the fault is from zerodha - they should derive a solution as per their operation agreement.
If the issue is with BSE - then they should use the investor protection fund to compensate or nullify the trades yesterday.
I seriously dont know what will happen if they find out the issue is with the internet provider - I dont think they have the bank balance to cover this risk.

Yes. Every single time I did win. I had all the documents in my favor.

Despite knowing how simple a person @nithin is, people are unnecessarily attacking personally. Zerodha as a business entity is different from Nithin as a person.
He uses his social media popularity to bring immense visibility on the financial frauds, imparts knowledge, cautions traders - all this while being humble. How many CEOs interact so openly & takes brickbats in his/ her stride?
Letâs think holistically before abusing some one or holding responsible without being reasonable.

One thing which could be done on priority, which would help customers a lot is, show the error message (and also order status) mentioning that the order got sent but no response / error from exchange. At least this will not mislead the customers and give a false sense of security / dread

It is a free market, every person is free to choose whatever broker and I understand that if our services slack, we will lose customers.
There are two issues. When the line is disconnected and the order is placed, the order doesnât get placed and is hung. This is when you see the open pending status. The main issue is when order is already placed and then there is a disconnection. We then wouldnât know the status of the already placed order until we do a recon.
loosing money doesnât entitle people to be nasty. If you follow nithin on sm, youâll know how doubly cruel this comment is ![]()
