Feature Request: Multi-Screen support for Kite Web

Hi @nithin, @siva, and the Zerodha tech team,

First off, I want to appreciate the clean, clutter-free, and reliable UI that Kite offers. It’s exactly why many of us chose Zerodha. However, as the retail trading landscape evolves, the tools we use need to evolve with it—and right now, Kite is severely limiting traders who use multiple screens.

Currently, there is a glaring roadblock in Kite Web: The strict “One Tab Per Computer” restriction.

As it stands, Zerodha does not allow us to open a second tab. We are restricted to just one active tab per machine. We can’t even open our account using a different browser to split our workflow. If you try, the platform restricts you.

This completely kills multi-monitor trading. Serious traders use 2, 3, or even 4 screens to track index spots, monitor live positions, and execute orders simultaneously. Because of the single-tab rule, we are forced to cram everything into one screen, constantly switching between the positions tab, charts, and the option chain.

This is the need of the hour. If you look at competitors like “Dhan”, they have solved this beautifully.

On Dhan, traders can open as many independent tabs as they want. You can have your positions running live on one monitor, a dedicated options chain on the second, and multiple charts on the third. Each web browser tab acts completely independently and continuously updates live data without forcing a logout on the other tabs.

What we urgently need from Kite:

  1. Remove the Single-Tab Limit: Allow multiple concurrent tabs/browser sessions on the same computer so we can physically drag them to different monitors.
  2. Independent Window Functionality: Let us keep our positions page open on one screen while independently tracking charts and watchlists on another.
  3. Native Multi-Monitor Workspaces: Eventually build out pop-out widgets (like dedicated order or chart windows) that sync seamlessly across screens.

With Kite’s constant updates, removing this artificial tab restriction should be a top priority. Many professional traders are feeling the friction and are migrating to other brokers specifically for this exact multi-screen freedom.

Please consider taking this up. It would massively improve our execution speed and quality of life during live markets!

Would love to hear from the community—how many of you are struggling with this single-tab restriction on your multi-screen setups?

Thanks,
Srini

Guess you have not seen kite Terminal mode, can check this.

I am an active trader and using the Kite Terminal mode from the very first day, what I am asking here is multi monitor support, when we have two or more monitors for trading setup, currently we cant able open kite on all monitors similar to tv.dhan or dhan. In dhan we can operate independently on all monitors. This is what I am requesting. - Thank you

Can you give me your use-case? Currently one can move any widget to any monitor and work independently.
