We are working towards finding a solution and engaging in discussions to make it possible. We will provide an update on any progress made in this regard.
Why only Proprietary trading and not retail traders?
That is how regulations are today due to higher risks of being in Colo, but they might be changed in future.
Great to learn about all good changes, some of them we don’t notice though make use of them.
I have only one request, I am very concerned about security, I understand Zerodha has taken initiatives to manage the same. But password reset remains the weakest link, if I lost my phone or my email got compromised I am very vulnerable.
Please do understand my concern zerodha is my one stop financial solution.
You simply can’t say that please keep your email and phone safe and you are good.
Allow some additional features to make reset more secure.
Those features might be optional for users, if everyone seems they are additional hassle.
Some of the thoughts include
Registration of additional mobile and thus reset required two OTP
OTP on both mobile and email id required, currently it is either
Charge me a small amount for reset, which needs to be paid from the bank, and this my bank might become my saviour
I am sure you have better brains in your team and can achieve real smart solution and save people like me from their own stupidity
I am also eagerly waiting for this.
This is the same reply which I am getting from past 4 months.
Edit: Searched for the post when I first asked for it. Feb 2023.
Congrats on Z’s 13th anniversary!
We are proud of you.
I was one of the first batch of traders on Z.
And I remember the time when you yourself used to call during fresh account openings.!
Good job man!
Just one ask. Can you please develop a system to use collateral margin while using Orbis.
Thanks!
Can we get inbuilt option chains rather than redirected to a 3rd party platform?
Or Launch a separate app as zerodha-sensibull option app.
pls bring the conditional orders
like placing option order based on the price of the futures or spot
this is a must need
Sensibull is anyway free for all Zerodha users so you can use that only right? Why do you want another seperate app.
Can we sell all stock holdings in one go if market falls in a crash ![]()
![]()
Why isn’t that feature available
Why doesn’t zerodha has long term triggers
We are working on allowing you to have a custody type of relationship through Zerodha itself (what you have at Orbis). Please give it a couple of months.
Yes, in the works. Need some regulatory approvals as it can be considered as an algo.
This is a risky feature to have. Holdings are meant for the long term, and a single click to square off everything isn’t ideal, according to us. But you can always create a sell basket order for all your holdings and keep it ready for use if you ever need it.
We have thought about it many times, but unfortunately, we haven’t been able to come up with any foolproof alternate solution that will not inconvenience most of our customers.
OTP on both mobile and email id required, currently it is either
Charge me a small amount for reset, which needs to be paid from the bank, and this my bank might become my saviour
It is either because sometimes OTP delivery fails through one channel.
If you make a payment outside a login, how do you validate that it is the same person whose account credentials need to be reset?
completely agree that it is one tough nut to crack. Need to have right balance between convenience and safety.
Make additional security parameter optional, like TOTP used to be optional some time ago. So it is on user to select between convenience and security. Some of traders (usually using daily), they are much confident about not forgetting password and hence may opt the same.
Zerodha may not be responsible for everything including timely delivery of OTP, but having two OTPs (ideally on two different phone numbers, since losing both has much lower probability) may reduce the risk significantly.
Having bank in the loop, you may not validate (though you have user ID), but it is potential deterrent for wrong doers. If they use their own bank, they are leaving footprints behind (more than their IP address).
I am not sure about other measures but security Q&A could be one (though personally don’t like them much).
Or device recognition?
Zerodha being industry leader, we consumers look forward to have some breakthrough implementations and bold steps from you. This might not be something which everyone use daily or admire, but one bad incident and the user may lose significant.
Even if you are not convinced or find any solution feasible at the moment, please keep this issue in your priority list, so you may find solution at earliest.
Thanks for your time and focus.
I disagree. OTPs are not secure and say you forget your mobile, but you can login to any browser via anyone’s desktop/laptop and login with the help of TOTP and a password reset email. Current system is good and we should be less dependent on mobile devices IMHO.
Regarding instant unpledge of LB, i was there with you among the first to point out
it feels like over a year now
@nithin Congrats
And like every year when features get discussed, a nudge from old timer regarding everything going free, now waiting for APIs, atleast non-data endpoints ![]()
